I am looking for a home congregation in my neighborhood, I do not see anything. How can I set up a home teaching here? I want God to position me I do not know how or where to start. This home congregation has been in my heart for years and dis not know they exist until listening to Omega Man Radio.

I tried to contact you guys about a home congregation close to me, however, the 2 persons that contacted me are in Centerville (an awesome lady and she even called me and prayed with mefor my back issue!) and Danville, who responded via email and they gave me a word that it is a reality. I saw one in the map over at Powhatan, which is very close. Do you still have that one over at Powhatan? Thanks and blessings.

I haven’t received the reply from that person yet. Could it be Thomas Noss? Is he on holiday break? Just wondering. I want to receive training, because I was a missionary for 6 years in the Dominican Republic (started 7 churches there the traditional way).

Can women lead a home congregation if men are in attendance? I was taught it is not biblical for women to teach and preach to men. Is this right or wrong?
This is a common mistranslation stemming from 1Cor 14:34-35, saying “Women should not speak/teach in Church”. The short answer is that Paul never said that. He was QUOTING what the Corinthians wrote to him in a letter and his response was a strong rebuke/scolding them for attempting to limit women. The problem is that when it was translated from Greek into English, the Greek QUOTATION marks were left out, making it seem as though Paul was saying it (these quotation marks appear 42 times in 1 & 2 Cor). Now for the long answer (so put on your critical thinking cap 🙂
1 Corinthians:
In chapter 11 Paul says women may prophesy if they cover their heads (to separate them from any association with the temple oracles of Delphi/prostitutes and command respect as a Christian sister and woman of God). Why would Paul say women can prophesy but not speak in Church?
In chapters 12, 13 & 14 Paul discusses the spiritual gifts and how to move in them in an orderly way when in a public crowd. In ch. 14 he addresses what the Corinthians said they wanted to do to limit women under the pretense of order (in vs. 34-35) then HARSHLY REBUKES them for suggesting it in vs. 36 (“Did the Word of God originate from YOU? Are YOU the only one it was spoken to?” paraphrase)
In Romans 16:1-7 Paul deeply praises his sisters in ministry:
Phebe – LEADER of many
Priscilla – courage, risking her life
Mary – hard work/labor
Olympas – sister of Nereus
What’s interesting, is in vs. 7, he praises a WOMAN APOSTLE JUNIAS as being among the most respected of apostles. How could Paul praise and receive women in the highest position of responsibility in ministry and as being among the most respected even among men and yet say they shouldn’t even speak or teach?

Acts 12:12 – Mary has a Home Congregation
Exodus 15:20, Judges 4:4, II Kings 22:14, Luke 2:36, Acts 21:9 – Prophetesses Miriam, Deborah, Hulda, Anna, Philip’s 4 daughters
Romans 16 – Mary, Julia, Nereus’ sister Olympas ministered
The bottom line is, if the Holy Spirit calls you, you should obey. If anyone questions the Holy Spirit, let them take it up with Him.
