I look into the mirror
And what did I see
Sorrow, sadness, anger, hatred
Reflected back at me
Time cannot erase
What’s buried deep inside
It’s only through hard work
That I won’t have to hide
The pain, the confusion,
Oh, my troubled soul
Break through the darkness
Be free and be whole

As I had written in the previous post, that as a victim of sexual abuse, one is left with a distorted view of themselves that trying to recapture what was lost is often painstaking, frustrating and yet I had two faithful companions along in my journey “Faith and Hope”. Without them I could never be where I am today.
I appreciate your vulnerability in sharing your story and feelings.
Blessings to you as you help others get set free.
Thank you Maureen. “Be free and be whole”…that is exactly what Jesus wants for all of us and He is the how. So grateful how He has and is working in your heart and that you are able to share your journey of healing with us in such a beautiful way with your gift of poetry.
I too, have experienced the great companions of faith and hope in my journey and I look forward to reading more of your poems. I believe your poems will unite hearts within the body of Christ and I ask The Lord to Bless you abundantly. 🙏💕
